why do i hate IE so much?
The beginning
Microsoft came out with Windows 95, and users really enjoyed it.
Browsers were normal applications, like games or others. The Internet was still a fairly new thing, so many people didn't need it.
What happened
Microsoft forced people to install Internet Explorer, along with other things. IE 4 came out, being insecure and full of bugs. The installation process was very invasive, and it modified a lot of system files with each version. Microsoft pushed out a "desktop update" that replaced the file manager with IE, and all folders would now only be viewed using IE. It slowed down other applications and discouraged downloading other browsers due to how slow IE made them. Browsers
Netscape was trying to get bundled with other systems, however, since Microsoft had more power, IE crushed Netscape and other browsers from advancing. By the time Netscape and other browsers were barely used anymore, Microsoft basically let IE rot.
